It’s a Knockout!

Hey, what’re you doing?

Not much.

Wanna go on an adventure?

Sure.

So it was that an ordinary day turned into something special thanks to a friend wanting to go to the Antique Rose Emporium in Independence, Texas.

What a place!  As the crowd of men and women indicated, it is an outing for anyone who enjoys and appreciates growing things.

The Antique Rose Emporium is more than a nursery, it’s an experience.  Everywhere  is beauty whether growing

or an enchanting example of creativity.

What great uses for what I thought were ordinary flower pots!

Throughout the grounds are delightful scenarios

and clever displays.

The gardens are very well organized and have plentiful varieties no matter what you’re looking for,

and if you want a little something extra, feel free.

Needless to say, butterflies are free in this environment,

and I couldn’t get enough of the monarchs fluttering among the blossoms.

By this time I’m in sensory overload, but there’s still more.  I think I’ll save it for tomorrow….won’t you please come back?

i so appreciate your visit and the comments you leave behind

  1. I’m finally catching up with emails and viewed your beautiful photos of this very, very special garden. It is truly a living work of Art!!

    1. I’m glad you appreciated the artistry of the Antique Rose Emporium. That is what was so enchanting to me as well.

  2. Lisa – you are one amazing photographer. It’s wonderful to see the world through your eyes!

  3. Love places like that – thanks for sharing your trip there. Someone put a lot of work into the clay pot arch! Wow. I need one of those signs “free weeds – pick your own” and change the word weeds to leaves. 😀
    Thanks for stopping by.

Oh my, what a fun place! I hope I’m in that area some day 🙂

  5. Oh goodness, what a lovely place to visit. That archway is extraordinary! I wonder how many pots they used? Oh, I wish I could wriggle my nose and be there for a visit. It’s winter time here in the northeast and nothing much is growing!

Thanks so much for joining in this week.

  6. Wow! That clay pot arch is amazing! And free weeds! Give me some of those. Even the weeds are allowed to grow where I am — it’s so hot most of the year, that if it’s green and grows, I water it — all the better if flowers, too. 🙂 Looks like you had a fabulous day! So much to see and enjoy. Best wishes, Tammy

    1. Agreed, the pot arbor was amazing. I love the bell detail. It was very easy to spend hours at this place on a gorgeous day.

  7. What a way to spend a day!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. How beautiful! I love the terra cotta pot arch. How pretty!!

  9. What a beautiful place. We have a similar garden here in the Pacific NW and I go there when I need to de-stress. It works wonders. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Monarch butterfly. What a beauty!

    1. It would be pretty hard to feel stressed in a place that so appeals to the senses.

  10. I never knew that this place existed……………time for a road trip. Thanks.

    1. It was my first visit and it was an absolute treat. Can’t wait to go again.

  11. How neat! Thanks for the tour!

  12. Hi LuLu…thanks so much for stopping by CITexas Gal and leaving a comment. I’m always sooooo very happy to meet another Texas Blogger. So very glad I returned your visit and found out about the Antique Rose Emporium in Brenham, Texas. Never been there, but after seeing this post and your great photos, it’ will be on my List of Great Places to Go in Texas. Thanks….Sue

    1. When you have a chance, do go. It is a great place just to experience.

  13. What a great garden center! I am so envious. I really love the creative pot display. I wish we had a good garden center here. The only one we had closed down a few years ago, now we’re stuck with home centers that carry a few popular plants, but never anything intriguing.

    1. This one is in the country, about 90 minutes from Houston. I was amazed as I visited with people that they came from all around.

  14. What a fun place! You must have had a great day. Great to have Seasonal Sundays back up, running, and having you be part of it!
