Apples are in, a sure sign that an apple dapple cake will soon be on the table. If you want a sure-fire hit, give this recipe a try, but be sure to cut your own piece first otherwise it might be gone before you get your share!
Apple Dapple Cake
3 eggs
1 1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 cups sugar
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups chopped apples
1 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Mix eggs, salad oil and sugar. Gradually add combined flour, salt and soda. Stir in vanilla, apples and nuts. Pour into greased and floured bundt pan and bake for one hour at 350.
While the cake is hot pour topping over the cake and let cool. (I poke holes in the top to allow topping to seep into the cake.)
Topping
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup milk
In a saucepan, combine ingredients and stir over medium heat for 2-3 minutes or until sugar is dissolved.
When I tell you this is a real crowd pleaser, believe it, and have copies of the recipe to hand out.
i so appreciate your visit and the comments you leave behind
I just shared this on face book. Looks so good.
Thank you. The cake is even better than it looks.
I believe I used to make this cake years ago, Linda. Thank you for the reminder about it. It is soooo good.
It looks delicious! I can’t wait to try it. It just might put a hole in my diet!
I LOVE apple cake and made a similar cake from Paula Dean last season YUM!!!
I have a HUGE bag of apple and will be back in kitchen now…..
We need to fide a way to use less butter, lol! 😉
Remember Julia Childs said there was no such thing as too much butter!
Ha ha! That’s true and she’s my hero! So I say bring on the butter!!!
There goes my diet — again! It looks delicious and I think it will be the perfect thing for growing grandsons when we kid-sit in a few weeks.
The kids will love it, and it might even be considered healthy since it has apples. (:
I have an Apple Dapple cake recipe from a friend of my mothers from the 70’s. I also have apples on tree in the backyard. I need to dig out the recipe and make this cake. Yours looks delicious.
Who knows, it could be the same one. I know this recipe goes back at least that far. Make it; you’ll be glad you did.
This looks amazing Linda! We are on the same wave length..I have been thinking bircher museli and blueberry muffins…something about the weather just says food!

How right you are, and fall definitely heads me in the direction of comfort foods.
