Favorite Things

Whether in Maine or South Carolina I have to drive an hour and a half to shop at Trader Joe’s. With easy access here in Houston, you can be sure it is a favorite destination. Not only do I find some favorite things there, I appreciate the employees who are super friendly and accommodating.

Every visit to Trader Joe’s has something new to offer which makes shopping there very fun.

Always a favorite are the Indian food entrees which I buy 10 at a time. There are several different ones that served with garlic naan and a salad make for a very simple dinner. Those come in handy when cooking for 2 needs a helping hand.

The hubby and I like coffee ice cream, and I’ve found none better than this one bursting with flavor.

Speaking of the hubby, Trader Joe’s sesame sticks are a must for him. They are good by themselves or mixed with other munchies for a tasty tini time snack.

These days there are many potato chips with interesting flavors from which to choose.

It’s always fun to try one that is new because next time it may not be available.

Seasonal offerings at Trader Joe’s are always ones to try. I especially like the fall ones.

The one I couldn’t get enough of last fall was this. I’m crazy about sticky toffee and combined with pumpkin it was over the top. In fact, I liked it so much I bought extras to freeze. There’s one package left which every day provides temptation that I will yield to soon!

When talking about favorite things at Trader Joe’s it’s impossible to leave out flowers. There’s always such a good selection and affordable prices make it possible to have fresh flowers all the time.

Writing about Trader Joe’s makes me think today is a good day to wander over and see what is new. Who knows what else can be added to my list of favorite things? Hey, I’d like to know yours as well.

  1. I don’t make it to Trader Joe’s very often because of the distance. (WHY isn’t there one here in the ‘burbs where ALL the residents it would seem would shop there?!?!?!?) When I do, I like to spend as much time as possible to simply browse at my leisure. So much to see! I’m an avid cook, and there are always lots of neat new items to try. I have never tried that coffee ice cream, but you’d better believe I’ll be on the lookout next visit!!!!! I’m also a major fan of those sesame sticks!!!

    1. Like you, I spend a lot of time browsing because I don’t want to miss a thing.

  2. Trader Joe’s is an hour and half drive. I am going next week!

    1. The drive is always worthwhile, but I sure like having it closer.

  3. Best ever – Trader Joe’s brand Pita Chips crackers!!

    1. I had some last week that were perfect for the dip I made.

  4. I love shopping at Trader Joe’s. Though I have never bought their ice cream. Don’t know why. Next time, I’ll have to give it a try. Lucky me… 2 Trader’s Joe’s within 45 minutes drive. 🙂

    1. I always make sure the drive is worth it!

  5. We used to live close to Trader Joe’s. Now we have to drive an hour and a half to get to one. The flowers are a really good value there. On our last visit I bought some beautiful tulips. We enjoy the pre-seasoned packaged meats like Pollo Asado. Their Mediterranean Hummus is a favorite. We like to ask the wine expert which wines they recommend, too. That ice cream looks real good. An hour and a half is a little far for ice cream to last, though.

    1. I always stock up on flowers as nobody beats the selection and price.
