Yes, I’ve been missing in action for some weeks. Why? Maybe it was Covid fatigue, frustration with the current politics in the U.S. and the unsettling events of January 6, senseless killing that goes on every day. Whatever the reason, I felt the need to take a hiatus from the blog world as well as from all that was causing my unrest.
Returning to Maine, hopefully, provides the means for rediscovering the serenity I have lost. This place is tonic for me, and already I feel its impact as I sit on the porch and look out over Rockport Harbor.
Whether sunny, overcast or sheathed in fog, the harbor doesn’t change except with the tide. It is constant which diminishes the craziness that still exists.
As the days pass, I hope to find my way back to all of you who are such loyal followers. I so appreciate your presence and look forward to sharing once again those things that make my heart sing. Stay tuned!

It has been a very difficult year but I am hopeful that many things were learned.

It’s wonderful that you have this serene and beautiful retreat to recoup. This has been a very difficult (at best) year+. So much to rankle the heart and soul. I have worked extra hard to make certain our home inside and out feels like a safe and welcoming place. I know my husband NEEDS that. He has been through hell and back.😔 Enjoy your time in Maine.
