Santas Everywhere

All things considered, this would have been a very good year to pass on decorating for the holidays. There will be no gathering at the house, and it would make life easier not to have to have to get out or put away seasonal decor. That being said, I couldn’t resist getting out a few things even if it’s only the hubby and me who will enjoy them.

First, out came the Christmas trees. These wonderful pleated paper creations were part of last year’s West Elm window displays. They appeal to my sense of whimsy, and I was thrilled to receive news that I could buy them once the window was changed. Putting them away is a piece of cake as they fold flat and slide right under the bed.

Santa is the star of the season’s simple decor. This one is a favorite gotten many years ago from a holiday show in which I presented my handwoven pieces. Funny but I usually bought from other vendors almost as much as I sold!

He is joined by a other Santas, all of which reflect varied creative images in everything from figures to stockings.

Throughout the house, there is a place for Santa. Until gathering them I didn’t realize how many have been collected over the years. Look closely at the little ones that represent a popular image in years past.

Santa listens when the hubby plays Christmas music.

He watches as I work to create a centerpiece for the table and gives a nod of approval.

He stops with a bag full of goodies to enjoy the fragrance of cookies baking in the oven.

Santa pops in for a quick hello as he goes from place to place to make sure elves are busy preparing for Christmas deliveries.

Here, there and everywhere Santa lends a happy spirit and reminds us to believe in the magic of Christmas.

However you celebrate, I hope your holiday is magical!

  1. Any decor that can be easily stored gets an A+ in my book. I say that as I’m facing the HIGHLY daunting task of putting away all this decor from this year PLUS the new stuff I just bought at Nell Hills early clearance sale. I’m glad you decided to decorate this year despite all the restrictions. It’s for YOUR enjoyment and peace…and ours in that you’ve kindly shared it. Santas make EVERYBODY happy!!! The more, the merrier!🎅 🎅 🎅

    Merry Christmas!

    1. Yep, today it will only take a few minutes to put it all away. You sure have more to do, but it sounds like all that decorating was worth the effort.
