No Ordinary Day

In ordinary times the hubby and I would be sharing egg hunts and brunch with family and friends. Today is not ordinary, and we are home alone texting and FaceTiming with those we love.

Home alone doesn’t mean we won’t have some semblance of an Easter meal actually served at the table.

Pastels and Easter go together. Here those colors are in everything from placemats to napkins to glassware and plates.

So that we don’t dine alone, some of my favorite characters are invited to join us.

Some, like Apply Dapply and Mrs. Ribby bring something to share while Benjamin, Pigling Bland and Timmy Tiptoes stand around waiting to be served.

There are no Easter lilies but amyrillis are blooming abundantly in the garden, and they are lovely substitutes.

OK, the table is set, but I’m still thinking about what will be for dinner as pickings from the pantry are getting slim. While that is a question, there is none about dessert as yummy cupcakes were picked up yesterday at Crave. Just thinking about biting into one makes my mouth water.

Wherever you are, however you are celebrating, I hope you find joy in this day.

  1. I love your Easter table! The amaryllis look great in the bottles and your characters are so charming. Dishes and accessories look nice.

    1. Though an unusual Easter with no family around, it was still quite nice and we made the best of it.

Thank you for sharing EASTER DAY 2020!
After Virtual church, hubby and I took a nice walk, had a small champagne brunch: raspberries w/homemade creme fraiche (easy!) ham & herbs omelet. No hot cross buns, alas.
Tonight, game hens, asparagus, garlicky new potatoes. A lemon bundt cake made yesterday! 😀🍷
    Pantry and freezer getting low.
    This too shall pass!

Happy Easter, Lulu. I pray that you have a blessed day. I love that you put out your Royal Doulton Beatrix Potter characters. Because we are the middle of a renovation, mine have remained in their boxes this year, so it’s extra special for me that you have shared some of yours. CherryKay

    1. Hearing from you always makes me happy. The BP figures were part of Easter for our girls from the time they were little one daughter us hers, the other’s are here.
