Through mid October, Maine attracts scores of visitors that we call leaf peepers. There’s good reason for that as from north to south the state is blanketed with color.
For several weeks each day becomes more brilliant as though fairies work their magic through the night.
Mountain tops wear coats of many colors.
Ponds and lakes reflect their surrounding magnificence giving viewers double pleasure.
Not to be overlooked are the touches of yellow adding their own brilliance.
No matter where one turns there is beauty.
Only the belted galloways appear to be oblivious to what is happening all around.
As lovely as all that fall has to offer is, there’s a certainty that follows.
All that color will end up on the ground meaning hours of cleanup. It’s a good thing that is preceded by so much beauty.
