On a very warm weekend, it was nice to break the heat on the water as we made our annual excursion with another couple to Buck’s Harbor. It is one of our favorite places for an overnight stay, and Buck family members are always welcoming and helpful.

Once we are docked and/or moored the routine is the same. The four of us gather on Pipe Dreams for conversation and a predinner appetizer and a glass of wine.

Then we walk from the marina to town and dinner at Buck’s. Do you get the feeling the Buck family has quite a presence in Brooksville?

After dinner we stroll back to our boats and enjoy the quiet of a lovely evening before settling in for the night.

We always plan on spending Saturday night at Buck’s Harbor in order to attend church service Sunday morning.

There’s something about this little church and its small congregation of friendly people that is so special. Being in place here is a wonderful start to the day.

Returning to the boat, we have coffee and a bite to eat before starting the return to Rockport Harbor.

Out on a calm sea beneath hazy blue sky, I am again reminded that this is the way life should be!
Sounds like the perfect adventure
Sounds lovely…
This sounds like a great annual endeavor for you!
Sounds like a cherry on the top of an already beautiful place you enjoy.
What a lovely day. I just took a deep sigh with the marina photograph. It looks so peaceful at sunset.
Sorry to have missed that beautiful breakfast!
Linda, what a perfect trip!
What a lovely excursion of perfection!
Oh, Linda! I have always loved sailing into Buckâs Harbor! The amazing sail in, the outdoor showers, the key lime pie they sell at the chandlery⦠. Passing by Hog Island, my heart always skipped a beat thinking about the lovely evening ahead. For many years (decades really) it was a high point of our summer cruises. Now it is a lovely memory as that chapter is closed for me. I loved reading of your time(s) in Buckâs Harbor!!!
