Usually when we spend the night on the boat, we enjoy a leisurely morning. Today was different as we wanted to get home in time for the incredible Wimbledon men’s final between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

Leaving early we had the water almost entirely to ourselves. Passing through the Fox Islands Thorofare boats were rocking gently on their moorings in the morning breeze.

As we moved slowly through the thorofare I spotted baby ospreys happy to see parents returning with breakfast. Do you know that ospreys return to the same nest year after year?

As we made way into Penobscot Bay, it was littered with lobster pots, a sure sign the water is warming which should mean increased hauls and lower prices.

The ride across the bay was perfect on glassy sea beneath sapphire sky. Coming into Rockport Harbor my favorite sight, Indian Island, was sparkling white beneath the sun and welcoming us home.

On the outer harbor we saw our first boat setting sail into calm water.

It was hard to know whether this couple was out to enjoy the morning beauty or headed toward their boat. In any case, the fella was getting some good exercise.

A couple of early risers were out on their paddle boards. One paddler was joined by his dog that seemed to be enjoying the ride. I was kinda wishing I could still wear a bikini and look that good!

Ahead is the village identified by its red brick buildings that are surrounded by lovely homes. Once Rockport Harbor was called one of America’s most beautiful spots by Charles Kurault. I couldn’t agree more.
The only thing that kept this from being a perfect day was Roger Federer losing in a long fifth set tiebreaker. He probably isn’t sleeping well tonight wondering how he managed to lose three tiebreakers.
What a great outing. Sounds wonderful!
I never tire of being on the water.
Beautiful scenery on your way into the harbor. Sorry your favorite did not win.
How did he lose? I was so sad!
The scenery of Rockport is amazing!
Love the lighthouse and sailboat pics! Such a beautiful place!
In this place, I am surrounded by beauty.
The sights you share tell such a soothing story. The fifth set? I agree with the commentators about the end of the match. At least for the Wimbledon final championship match, there should be no playoff. They should play out the set in regular fashion. Thanks for bringing us along for the evening ride. CherryKay
It’s always my pleasure to have you along.
Beautiful Linda! Yes RF is my all time favorite, such a classy guy…I really thought he was going to win…incredible tennis!

What beautiful scenery and how wonderful to be able to enjoy. I would have a hard time ever getting off the boat. Happy Monday!
