Everyday Tables

Who doesn’t appreciate being invited to friends’ home for dinner? Sharing a meal is one of those special treats made even better when served at a beautiful table.

Those of you who favor blue and white will find lots to like at this table with its centerpiece of bright yellow lemons in a tureen. It did exactly what it needed to do without being fussy. Don’t tell but the hubby snagged one of the lemons so he’d have peel for his martinis.

Lovely blue and gold rimmed china had as a background blue placemats.

Crisp linen napkins, each with a different pattern, were perfect accents.

The entire presentation was tasteful with just the right touch of elegance.

What made it even more perfect was being surrounded by blue and white.

Whether in the dining room or the adjacent living room, every piece fit just right, a sure sign that it had been carefully chosen. I do so admire people who have a knack for knowing what they like and using it well.

While this home would fit anywhere, its touches of Maine gave it a sense of belonging in this place.

  1. I do miss my antique collection of historical blue and white plates…they go so well in New England homes. Your friends home is lovely and you two have something in common. You both have the same “knack for knowing what you like and using it very well.” 🙂

  2. The lemons are the perfect centerpiece! What a lovely table!

    1. Yes, I thought it just right.

  4. So pretty. I am very drawn to blue and white.

    1. I’ve never been a blue and white gal so I like seeing how others use it.

  5. Beautiful table. I love the linens. Adding the lemons was the perfect pop of color for the blue and white .
Such a pretty living room also.
I love how you get together with friends often in Maine.

    1. Bonnie, the time we spend with friends is one of the reasons I so enjoy Maine.
