Few tables are happening at our house these days, so visiting friends in Arizona I took advantage of opportunity to set a table for dinner. I couldn’t resist starting with the cloth gotten that afternoon at the Indian Market.

It was fun going through the napkin drawer and finding ones that would work.

Such a mix of pattern and color was reason for a touch of offbeat created with the flatware that was placed off center. Who says you can’t bend the rules a tad?

There was need for little else on the table other than a few votives to cast a soft glow as the sun set.

Looking at the simple table, it occurred to me that the dining area’s decor was a perfect backdrop.

With wine poured and the table ready for the tasty and healthy meal prepared by the man of the house, we were prepared for a most pleasant evening.

As we began the meal, I was struck with gratitude for friends with whom to share time in a place with its own special kind of beauty.
i so appreciate your visit and the comments you leave behind

There is never anything just ordinary about your table settings and this is no exception. A beautiful setting for what looked like a great evening with friends – the outside was totally cooperating with the magical colors.
You flatter me, and I am grateful!
Beautiful tablescape in a beautiful home! And the Arizona setting! AmAZing!
You know I love my Arizona!
The bottom photo looks very much like the view from my house – Four Peaks. They are covered in snow today!
You got it right and I can’t believe snow. My friend sent photos and I was stunned!
I was sure surprised – did a blog post, of course…
A lovely and simple table – the colors are gorgeous and the food looks delicious!
Beautiful cloth LInda, and I’m all for rule bending! Arizona is looking very appealing as we face another dreary rainy day in Alabama, and the cheerful colors of your table have brightened this day up!

We’ve had our fair share of rain and gray days which makes color a necessity.
So lovely!
You can come to my house and set the table up, Linda. Anytime!
You certainly set a most beautiful table and any meal is beautiful with treasured friends…what a view! Love the Red Rocks and recently went to Sedona and so love that area!!
Yes, the view was a winner. No palette is better than what is in nature.
