Time Out at Blackberry Farm

After the hustle and bustle of the Christmas holidays, it was good to take time out to enjoy quiet time with family. The hubby and I headed to Tennessee to meet a daughter and her two daughters for a few days at Blackberry Farm, a favorite place for all.

Blackberry Farm is like being in the middle of nowhere. There are no power or telephone lines to interrupt the views, and there’s not even sign of houses though there are some close by.

Being here during the holiday season was a new experience, and it was a joy seeing it all decked out with gifts from nature.

On every building, be it for animals or humans, there were garlands of green

or wreaths filling the air with sweet smells.

My favorite site was the boat house with its own tree sparkling with lights and wreaths tied with big red bows.

Along a path came the sound of horse hoofs and in a flash came a carriage that seemed a perfect way to explore the grounds.

Walking along I spied a child taking one brave step at a time toward a horse that waited patiently for him to approach. Such moments are magic!

While the outdoors at Blackberry Farm is full of wonder, there is much more, especially when it comes to food that is beautifully presented. The culinary offerings are amazing and, for sure, you better come with a good appetite! Pacing yourself is necessary otherwise you could lapse into a food coma from overeating.

Yes, Blackberry Farm is a great place for taking time out and renewing the senses no matter the season.

i so appreciate your visit and the comments you leave behind
