Returning to Maine in May means experiencing spring all over again. The yard is full of nature’s promises, ones that will not be broken.
Trees are clothed in tiny leaves that promise a soon to come explosion of green.
Peonies have tight little buds impatient to showcase their beauty,
and rhododendrons are competing to lead the way.
Aliums grow taller by the day promising to become puffs of purple beauty.
Columbines open shyly hinting of prolific blooms,
and hostas unfurl gradually introducing textures and colors uniquely theirs.
Lilacs promise to fill the air with sweet perfume.
Promises are made in so many ways, and none are disappointing. Well, that may not be true when it comes to pollen!
i so appreciate your visit and the comments you leave behind

So many wonderful blooms getting ready to pop! It’s like waiting for Christmas. Love it!
Hi Linda, After a little bit of a disappointing flowering tree season the rest of our flowers have popped in a glorious way! The Spring has been long and cool, and I’m hoping that’s a Promise of a pleasant summer! Your photos are beautiful! Welcome back to New England! Linda
With every bud that opens I get so excited because it’s such a different experience than in Houston. BTW, I am always happy hear from you.

It is so beautiful, I agree! Look forward to seeing you soon.

I do get 2 falls as well, but as you know, fall in Houston is not as dramatic as here.
Oh how wonderful that you get to experience Spring all over again…your flowers are truly beautiful!
P.S…..I grew up in Florida too!
Linda, beautiful images of spring awakening! Please update when the alliums and the peonies are in bloom!
This is so beautiful Lulu! So I must ask are your from Texas or Maine originally? How did you pick the other place to spend half of your time? Pretty cool to experience two springs.
I grew up in Florida and have spent most of my adult life in Houston. We vacationed in Maine and fell in love with it and have been lucky to be here half time the last 10 years or so.
Wow so now you have three completely different places Lulu that you’ve lived in. 😌
Just gorgeous!!!
How special to experience Spring twice, and you have such a variety of blooms to enjoy! Beautiful!!
Beautiful! Spring is such a delight and to experience twice would be heaven.
Beautiful photos! I’m not in Maine right now and missing all the wonderful Spring awakenings. Thanks so much! So happy I will be home soon to see it all.
Love being here at this time!
