Reflections

Here we are about to welcome a new year, and I’m wondering how this one flew by so quickly.  Is the same true for you?   For the next few minutes, I want to think about 2013 and remind myself of the highlights.

I was fortunate to have some wonderful travel experiences.

Traveling SisterhoodFirst, there was Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam with the Traveling Sisterhood.  That is an adventure to hold on to for years.

Later, the hubby and I traveled to France for Chef Michael Salmon’s Foodie Adventure, an experience to be truly savored.

For the first time, we drove from Maine to Houston stopping at many an interesting site along the way.

I worked on improving my photography skills, especially those having to do with food.  May I tell you there is still work to be done!

necklaceI made necklaces galore.  Who would have thought these would take on such a life of their own!

I blogged, posting 121 musings on travel, food, tablescapes and Maine adventure.  In the process, I  met many new online friends who give me the impetus to continue writing. To each of you I am grateful. and I look forward to what we share next.

JoelExcept for losing my brother way too soon, 2013 was a very good year.  I regret that it went so fast, but I’m looking forward to what lies ahead.

Here’s to you and what 2014 holds for all of us!

i so appreciate your visit and the comments you leave behind

  1. Thank you for sharing your joyful 2013! Besh wishes for 2014.

    Go Seminoles!!! 😀

    1. Amy, did your hubby go bonkers? We were at the game and I still can’t believe what I saw!

      1. He was nervous, anxious, excited… before the game. After the first Q, I thought he was about to cry. I had to remind him it was too early to tell (repeated 10 times). He kept saying the strategy, etc… The non-stop home run was incredible!!!
The Red Sox and Seminoles made a great year for the fans like my hubby 😀
So happy to know you were there 🙂

  3. Really enjoyed your year in review. I felt privileged to be featured in the first photo! Was great fun to see the Maine photos, especially as I missed most of the summer there. The best was the warm & wonderful photos of your beautiful family. Was touching to see the handsome photo of your brother too. The special times you shared together during the past year must console you.

Wishing you the best in 2014. Looking forward to sharing adventures with you in the coming year…..both in person and through your blog.

  4. Loved the review of your year! That pic of the tomato was not a novice pic! You do not give yourself enough credit.

Somehow I missed your brother’s passing. Must have been during the blogging break I took this summer and early fall. I am so sorry.

  6. What fun adventures! I used to live in Vietnam, and I really miss the place and the people. Happy New Year!

    1. Really! Where did you live? I think the experience would be interesting to say the least.

      1. I lived in Dalat, which is in the southern highlands, for three years, and in Hanoi for two. Did you travel to either place? My husband proposed to me on a trip to the coast…Lots of great food and memories there.

      2. Yes, I visited Hanoi but would like to have spent more time there. I loved the food in Vietnam. It may be the only trip where I lost weight!
