She’s Got the Blues….and whites!

”If you really want to make a friend, go to someone’s house and eat with him…The people who give you their food give you their heart.”

Cesar Chavez

blue/white tablescapeI am still in the baby stages of using blue and white, but when I have a hankering to see more of its possibilities I have only to walk up the street to be inspired by a neighbor’s wonderful collection of all things blue and white.  It’s even better when you are invited to dinner and enjoy firsthand her lovelies.

blue/white tablescapeWhen she pulls from her cabinet and sets a table it is always a visual feast. Her accessories are always right on

blue/white tablescape/flowersand you can count on there being flowers cut from the garden  to add a special cheerfulness to the table.  I enjoy each bloom as the flowering season will soon be over.

blue/white tablescapeHiding among them is a little blue rabbit, so timid in front of staring eyes.

blue/white table/glassI’m crazy about glassware, so these lovely cut glass stems immediately got my attention.

blue/white tableSalad in these parts is often served after the main course, and I loved having it on these simple glass plates with their understated touch of blue.  In fact, if these go missing, I hope she doesn’t come looking for them at my house!

blue/white tableAltogether, this is an enchanting table done simply and with great style.

  12. I love the vibrancy of this table…and Blue Willow is my all-time favorite pattern. The flowers are beautiful.
    Have a wonderful week, Linda…

  13. Enchanting is the word to describe this simply elegant table! The blue and white transferware in the white cabinet is a fabulous display for all the gorgeous china. I was immediately drawn to the Spode Camilla blue pattern on the bottom shelf and it is one of my patterns and also the red hue in this pattern. The lovely flowers drapping over the container is a sweet centerpiece. The traditional blue willow plates are accented by the soft yellow linens. It would be very special to sit and dine at your neighbor’s table for she is also a lover of china. Have a great week!
