City Fix II

Lest you think I’m crazy to get excited about shopping, let me lay the groundwork.  Around my part of Maine, about the best shopping venues are Walmart, TJ Maxx and Reny’s.  Now, those aren’t terrible, but cute shops in the city are a step up.

The Old Port area of Portland has gotten to be a hip kind of place with lots of excellent places to eat and fun boutiques.

I may not buy anything, but I an enthralled with creative displays like these

or these.

What game player wouldn’t like these burlap backgammon boards?  Did I really leave this behind!

And if I were looking for a chandelier, which would I choose?  This

or this one all tied in knots?

These old ink bottles would be great additions to my collection

or maybe it would be fun to add something new.

Spunky hats

and shoes get my attention,

but when push comes to shove this is the best place to be

and the girls think so, too.

Now, if we could just find the car…..think these guys could help us out?  They sure look friendly enough.

i so appreciate your visit and the comments you leave behind

  1. Hello terrific website! Does running a blog such as this
take a large amount of work? I’ve no understanding of programming but I had been hoping to start my own blog in the near future. Anyway, if you have any ideas or techniques for new blog owners please share. I understand this is off subject however I simply wanted to ask. Thank you!

  2. And if they cant help you to find the car they maby can take you on the back of the bike ;D Lots of beautiful stuff in that shop, I really like the idea of a backgammon made in fabric to have on a pic nic.

  3. I could spend hours in those shops! The rope chandelier is creative.

    1. The rope chandelier was definitely different which was what made it fun.

  4. Friendly and CUTE!!!!! What handsome law enforcement you have there!!!! 🙂 Great shops! I can see why you’d get excited! I would want to buy everything!!!!!! To walk away from either of those chandeliers would take a wealth of inner strength and restraint!!! (Although the emptiness of my pocketbook would probably have the greatest influence there!)

    1. Hey, you don’t have to spend any money to find great things! Looking is what dreams are made of.

  5. Like the rope chandelier. Of course I am the type that thinks a glass topped wagon wheel makes the best coffee table too.

  6. Lots to tempt my wallet~ especially the gardening items! I love the nautical inspired chandy too 🙂

    1. Yes, the gardening items would be just perfect in your new potting shed.

  7. What a great shop! The gardening tools are right up my ally, what a wonderful day.

    1. You would love lots of things in this particular shop.

  8. You have made Portland seem much more interesting and fun than I imagined it could be! Thank you for sharing your dining and shopping adventures.

  9. What cute shop. Thanks for sharing.

  10. Hallie is almost as tall as you??? And I need one of those cute ink bottles too.

    1. Hallie’s not quite as tall but over 5′. Funny how kids grow up.

  11. The knotted chandelier is so you.
What a fun shopping adventure for you and your grands.
I really need that burlap backgammon game for someone this Christmas. Thanks for helping me shop,

You make my day with your comments
