Most nights the hubby and I have dinner at home and generally sit at the bar. No matter how simple the meal, it always seems better if it is presented attractively. The required effort is minimal and is one way of nurturing creativity.
This night I used dishes that had belonged to my mother which made her seem closer. She liked anything with roosters, and I can’t help but think of her every time I see anything with a rooster as part of the design.
With these plates, orange and green are a nice complement.By sheer luck, the flowers in small vases on the bar just happen to reflect the colors in the dishes so no extra steps had to be taken to pull everything together.
I generally use cloth napkins, and one of my favorite parts of table setting is finding ways to fold them.
Here I start with a square folded on the diagonal. Each layer is then folded back to create a saucy touch.Nothing could be much simpler.
So, there you have it, it only takes a little to make dinner at home special.
