A witch wandering in dimming light

spied a raven, dark as night.

Together they came upon a spooky house where nothing stirred, not even a mouse.

“Let us settle right here,” they said, “and make a place to share good cheer.”

Plates black as the raven and bowls the colors of gourds will work just right

and make a table setting for friends tonight.

With napkins tied in a little pouch just so

we’re all set and ready to go.

i love your comments, so jump right in and share yours

  1. Love your little crow! And I always think it is fun to “unwrap” the flatware before dining. Your plates are also very attractive! Enjoy fall in Maine–the place to be! Linda

  2. OOh love the book!!Your dishes are lovely. What a great inspiration to all of us. thanks for sharing the napkin fold! Your pumpkin witch is my favorite, dear friend. she can come visit anytime!! Happy Halloween.

    1. The book birdhouse appears to be a perfect centerpiece for you. I think that the classic ruby glass goblet played well with the contemporary dinnerware. Good call. The napkin fold tutorial was quite helpful. Thank you for sharing your welcoming table. Cherry Kay

  3. Hey there! Thanks for stopping by my place earlier today! I have been out all day (shopping!!!), so I’m just getting back to my computer so that I can see a lot more Tablescape Thursday posts. Yours is looking good, and I am really happy that you put a little tutorial on the way to fold the napkin. I’m so bad about that! 😦 Have a wonderful, wonderful Halloween weekend!!!

  4. Love the raven!!! Everything looks great- am in DC – hate leaving Maine 😦 Will be back for Christmas – heading to Seattle for Thanksgiving – when do you head out???

  5. I just love that centerpiece! Anything to do with a book always appeals to me. Your dishes are just perfect for an autumn/Halloween tablescape but I am sure they are versatile for many occasions. Your napkins look great folded that way. I am glad to have the instructions on how to do it. Thank you so much for your comments on my blog. I am always so happy to see you.

You make my day with your comments
