Just the Two of Us

A simple enough pleasure, surely, to have breakfast alone with one’s husband, but how seldom married people in the midst of life achieve it.
Anne Spencer

Home alone is what we are, so it seems a good time to do breakfast for just the two of us using finds from here, there and everywhere.

The table was spotted by my daughter at an antique shop.  She wanted it to go home with her, but since it didn’t come apart which presented a shipping problem, it stayed with me and proved to be a perfect size for the breakfast room and a just right length for the benches.  I didn’t know I needed a new table, but this one works better than the one that was there.  Anyone need a slightly used Pottery Barn farm table?

At another antique stop were these adorable plate warmers, things I didn’t need but had to have.  I think they have potential as centerpieces another day.

The plate warmers will add a touch of gaiety to these handmade  plates purchased on a snowy day in Provence.

Hmmm, what to use for coffee?  I do believe this multi colored Palazzo cup and saucer will work just fine as it has tones of all the colors on the table.

And to top it all off a bouquet of dahlias and hydrangeas from the garden.

Now that the table is set, I better get busy and make breakfast.

How much fun it is to be a part of Tablescape Thursday.

i love your comments, so jump right in and share your thoughts
