DWTS, the next day

OK, I admit it.  I am a Dancing With the Stars Junkie.  It’s the only program on TV I religiously watch, so all is right with the world now that a new season has started.  For the first round, this one was strong, that is if you leave out The Situation.  Who might I ask is he?

And Michael Bolton.  When did he start looking like a Wall Street banker?

Florence Henderson.  Well, she didn’t dance so well, but she’ll last another few rounds because she’s a sentimental favorite.

Bristol Palin.  Does this family like to be in the spotlight or what?

David Hasselhoff, we don’t have to worry about him any more.  He’s history.

Among those who are left, there are some pretty good dancers. Kyle Massey was the biggest surprise.  He may be overweight and out of shape, but that boy had some moves.  I’m betting he stays in as a crowd favorite.

Rick Fox.  Omigosh, he can dance and is he hot, hot, hot!  He was the only reason I ever enjoyed watching Lakers basketball, and he’s gotten better with age.  With my favorite female dancer Cheryl as partner, I’m looking for him to be in the finals.

And Jennifer Grey.  Has anybody seen her since Dirty Dancing?  Wherever she’s been, she hasn’t lost a step on the dance floor and was poetry in motion.  I might add she hasn’t gained a pound either!  This one will be hard to beat, especially with Derek choreographing.

As I watch I see me gliding gracefully around the dance floor, thin, looking great in the sexiest of outfits, bringing the crowd to its feet, taking home the coveted glittering ball.

I’m there.

  1. Found your site after your comment on mine! Love that you are a fellow Maine blogger- I am heading back to my winter haunts in Wash DC- be back periodically. Love DWTS too! Went to the show 2 years ago when Melissa Rycroft and Jewel’s husband Ty was on! Love Rockport – have you been to Shepherd’s Pie yet- Love their clam tacos!!!

    1. We are walking distance from Shepherd’s Pie so we’ve made the trip many times. I’m with you….clam tacos are my absolute favorite.

  2. I was HORRIFIED when I realized I forgot to set the DVR! I have been a DWTS fan since it first came on, and I just can’t believe I let “real life” get in the way of watching this season’s openers!!! “The Situation” is from that show “Jersey Shore” which I have never seen, but he was pretty good on “Ellen” last season. He’s kind of a spotlight hog, though. I heard that Kurt Warner – the cutie pie that he is – was pretty good out there. I have never been able to forgive Rick Fox after what he did to Vanessa Williams, but I will concede that he is gorgeous. I’m pulling for Jennifer Grey, too. I am SO mad at myself for missing this week!!!

    1. Thanks for filling me in on The Situation. I guess I must have missed/not known him on Ellen. Kurt Warner wasn’t bad; Rick was better. Forgot about the issue with him. Jennifer was awesome as you will see when you tune in next week. Don’t forget!

  3. EVERYONE’s FAVORITE show is back I see!

  4. I must be the only person in the world who has never seen the show. Now, I am enticed. Loved the photos with the personal commentary. Will watch to enjoy the dancing…and see Jennifer Gray. Always wondered where she went after Dirty Dancing.

  5. I guess ALL of them like to be in the spotlight or they wouldn’t do it. And they wouldn’t be invited unless the producers thought there was interest in them.
Bolton lost the long hair a few years ago, suits him better imho.
I figured Gray would be good, I still remember that dance with Patrick Swayze, rest his soul. She has talent.

  6. I really admire Jennifer Grey’s tribute to Patrick Swayze on DWTS. Last night was just special. They got to dance to a song that is so iconic and it triggered great memories.

  7. I, too, am a fan of Dancing with the Stars! You won’t believe this, but my favorites are “The Situation” and Bristol Palin! I hope they stay in for a LONG time! The others I can take or leave. Remember last year with Kate Gosselin?????!!!!! I have NEVER seen anyone as bad as she was. She was, as Bruno put it, like a broom that Tony was pushing around the floor – He said something along those lines! Remember? It’s sad, but so true.
    Have a great day.
    Best regards,

    1. Ah yes, Kate Gosselin. We’ll have to stay in touch on this one.

You make my day with your comments
